FACT SHEET
The Mobile Health Unit (MHU) will provide quality health care services to the most vulnerable people in our community who needs health care, but has limited or no access.
It will be one-of-its-kind state-of-the-art MHU to be launched by a hospital in Mumbai
The initiative will commence at Jawahar. The hospital will eventually target around 50 smaller villages in the vicinity
Hinduja to hold awareness and knowledge sharing session for the target group and also develop self help group in each areas for better outcome
The MHU is equipped with an X-ray, basic provision of lab diagnostic investigations, minor procedure cum examination room for small procedures like CLWs, plastering and refrigerator for blood sample and vaccine storage. It shall have a facility of an LCD screen to aid patient education programs
The MHU will also dispense free medicines, health education, free investigations and primary care
MHU is staffed with a nurse, Lab technicians and a doctor besides a driver and an attendant
MHU will provides healthcare facilities equivalent to a primary healthcare centre
The MHU could be connected to the hospital through telemedicine for specialized consultation on fixed days, if required
The patient data base will be maintained and a follow-up will be done once the van revisits the location
Van schedule - 1 day on location � will revisit the place once in a week
Initial target � no. of people � each of the villages has 4000 people
Future Plan - It is the desire of Hinduja Hospital team to expand this project into multiple fleets of MHUs. These will be supported by smaller buses called Basic Mobile Health Units, which could go further into the interiors and also move patients from there if required
Estimated cost that will be incurred for the sustenance of the Van � 15 lakhs per month
