Hinduja Hospital's Serve with Passion �
Rural Health Program wins the
Excellence Award in the CSR Project category,
in the first year of it's
commencement.

The awards program recognizes and honors hospitals in Asia that carries out best practices. Now in it's 11th year, it is the accepted hospital management awards program for the Asia Pacific Region.

Awards are given in 10 categories to hospitals in the region that, in the opinion of the judges and advisors, have implemented or enhanced outstanding and innovative projects, programs and best practices during the previous year.

This years' award function was held on the 14th Sep 2012, Melia Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam. The winners will be chosen from the finalists out of 363 entries representing 89 hospitals from 12 countries.

We are pleased to announce that Hinduja Hospital's 'Serve with Passion' Rural Health Program won the Excellence Award in the CSR Project category, in it's first year of operation.

You will recall, last year, on 9th September, the hospital had inaugurated it's first AMHU for an outreach program to provide quality healthcare in the tribal outskirts of Mumbai. Two BHMUs were added a few months back, to the larger unit - AMHU, to create a hub and spoke network with the specific objective to increase reach.

During one year of it's operations Hinduja Hospital's Rural Health Program has served over 40,000 people; It has trained more that 15 teachers and over 10,000 children in hygiene and preventive health behavior. It has organized eye check up camps besides distributing slippers, specs and other health supports; The MHU vehicles have become a cherished part of the lives of villagers.

The 'Serve With Passion" team hopes that many more people will join the movement and make the project a movement. Early detection of disease and preferably it's prevention are the best ways to make healthcare convenient, accessible and affordable.
